Is Osmo Still in Business?

Yes — and here's the good news: Osmo is being brought back to life by the people who built it in the first place. We're a small, self-funded team of former Osmo employees. We bought the brand out of bankruptcy because we couldn't stand to watch it disappear, and we've been putting it back together ever since.

What happened

Osmo was acquired by BYJU'S in 2019. BYJU'S collapsed, and in 2024 Osmo went down with it — apps stopped working, support went silent, and families and schools were left holding kits with no one to call. That period was genuinely rough, and the reviews from it say so.

Here's the part that still gets us, though: so many of you stayed anyway. Classrooms kept using Osmo. Parents kept emailing to ask when we'd be back. That's the whole reason there's a company here to write this — and it's why we're not going to waste the second chance.

Who's bringing it back

In late 2025, a small group of us — the same people who designed and built these products the first time around — acquired the brand out of the bankruptcy. We're parents. We know what these games can do for a kid, because we watched it happen for years. We're largely self-funded, which means we're small, we move deliberately, and we'd rather under-promise and then actually deliver.

What we're doing right now

• The store is open and shipping. Free shipping on all US orders, 30 days to return anything, and we cover the return label.
• The apps are coming back, one at a time. We're working through our retail games now, and tens of thousands of kids are already playing every month.
• Support is a real human. Write to support@playosmo.com and someone on our team reads it and answers.
• A few games can't come back. Some titles were built on licenses we no longer hold, so they won't return. We'd rather tell you that up front than let you find out later.

Where this is going

We're rebuilding in public, piece by piece, because we think Osmo is worth it: real pieces in real hands, and screen time that actually earns its place. Every order helps fund the next app we bring back — and if something isn't working for you, tell us. These days there's someone here to fix it.

Will the games work on my iPad?

Current Osmo games support iPads running iPadOS 15 or newer — for most families, the iPad already at home works. Each product page lists exact device compatibility.
